Gayle, a Jamaican native whom resides in New York complained to her doctor about having music induced seizures. The woman claimed that the seizures started happening around 2006 when Sean Paul’s song Temperature was popular.
Gayle asserted that every time she heard her favorite artist song it would elicit a seizure attack. She recalled having her first episode at a family barbecue and then the condition worsened over time to up to 10 seizures daily. She claimed the seizures got so out of control that she had to leave her job as a bank teller and stop singing in the church choir.
She has since regained her confidence and life with the help of Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Gayle, having been diagnosed with musicgenic (music triggered seizures) underwent brain surgery to remove portions of her brain that were the cause of the dysfunction. Stacy Gayle is recovering well and has not had a seizure since undergoing treatment in October of 2007.
