Busta Rhymes pleads guilty to assault charges in connection with the attack of his then driver and former fan. Apparently the incident is believed to be a result of back money owed to Edward Hatchett (Rhymes former driver). In the mist of dealing with these charges Busta Rhymes was arrested again for drunk driving in New York City May of 2007.
In light of the charges, Busta Rhymes was very grateful for the light sentence imposed. He was sentenced to 3 years probation and 10 days of community service. Busta Rhymes was also ordered to pay a fine of 1,250 and attend a DUI course. The entertainer shared these words with the media.
“I just want to say that I’m very grateful to the judge, and I’m very grateful to the system. I believe in the system,” Rhymes said as he left court.
