Alaine, both a songwriter and singer, is fast increasing her fan following in Jamaica and worldwide. Besides her brilliant smile, she has an excellent voice and tends to demonstrate experiential depth in terms of her skill in the field of songwriting. Alaine, who is preparing for International launch of her career was raised in Jamaica, but born in the United States. Among many of her achievements, she starred along with Whoopi Goldberg, in a movie called Clara’s Heart, and hosted a television show for children, as well as having participated in a number of national events and cabaret shows. In addition to having been an ambassador for the International Committee of the Red Cross, by the time she reached the age of nine years. She was also a part of many theatrical productions, radio jingles and other commercials, as a singer and an actress, during her childhood in Jamaica. She started writing songs while she was quite young and for four years took classical piano lessons as well. Alaine sung for Freeway and Cameron, who are Rocafella Recording artists, and has recorded songs with artists from Canada, England and the Philippines. J Records and Bad Boy are among the labels, artists signed for which have recorded her songs. She pursued a career in songwriting, while working at JPMorgan, which is an investment bank in New York, where she moved to in 1999.
Her Hip Hop and Rhythm & Blues influences are showcased by the vocal arrangements and writing that in combination with traditional Reggae and Jamaican Dancehall, form part of her music. Donovan Don, Corleon Bennett and Sly Dunbar are among the leading producers in Jamaica, with whom she has worked, after having returned to the island in 2004. The music video for her song titled ‘No Ordinary Love’ has been quite popular and it has been ranked high on Caribbean and Jamaican charts, besides being a part of play lists internationally. ‘Wine and Love Sound’, ‘Anything’ and ‘Chaka Chaka Love’ are among her other popular tracks. ‘Sacrifice’ is the title of Alaine’s album released in July 2007. Alaine has also been participating actively in programs for promoting awareness that could lead to the prevention of the spread of AIDS/HIV.
